Nobody told me that I would end up working with plants and studying translation but now, ribosomes are among my best friends and I´m working hardly in our relationship.
Apart from that, I love reading and traveling anywhere in order to know more about world in which I live.

Hello! My name is Gemma Sans Coll and I’m a PhD student working on the “Translational landscape of the plant-virus interaction” project under Mª Catharina Merchante Berg’s and Eduardo Rodríguez Bejarano’s supervision. Plants have never been my forte (I just killed my carnivorous plant because I fed it a fly!), but working with them has
made me appreciate and understand them a lot more. In my free time, I enjoy playing videogames, drawing and DIY stuff.
2009-2014: Degree on Biotechnology with specialty on Molecular and Cellular Biology, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB)
2013-2014: Practice work, Integrated Biotechnology and Process Engineering, Technische Universität Hamburg-Harburg (TUHH)
2014-2015: Master’s degree on Cytogenetics and Reproduction Biology with specialty on Reproduction Biology, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB)
2015: Practice work, Clínica Eugin, Barcelona

My name is María, and I am a Chemical Engineer. I completed my studies at the University of Málaga, did my Erasmus in Bucharest and worked abroad in Czech Republic at the Centre of the Region Haná for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research after finishing my degree.
Currently, I am part of Catharina Merchante´s research group, giving technical support to the team. My hobbies include drawing and travelling around. I like to acquire new knowledge by experience, always open to new challenges!
Hi! My name is Aurora and I am in the last year of the Biochemistry grade. I am doing my end of grade Thesis studying the translational regulation of the S Adenosylmethionine descarboxylase mRNA.
